Residential MEDIUM

GATSKOP

Paternoster

1/1

The small unique  residential development, consisting of four erven located in the Klein Bek Bay portion of Paternoster, is intended as the project that spurs on further development in the area.

Hence the name Gatskop (translated literally as “butt kick”). The architecture for this project seeks to focus on interpreting the traditional style of the West Coast vernacular in a contemporary manner, paying homage to the history of Paternoster and that which gives this town its famous sense of character. Within walking distance from the shoreline, the site presents an opportunity to create coastal architecture which responds and connects to both the charisma of the town as well as the natural surroundings.
